Over the past two decades, the Maduro Government, and before him that of Hugo Chavez, have built three million homes, transformed levels of literacy, brought heath care to the poorest and cut infant mortality by 40 per cent.
UK MPs have chosen to attack the track records of these governments, ignoring the progressive reforms, and completely overlooking the impact of the oil collapse, US economic interference and the violence perpetrated by right wing paramilitary groups.
Both the UK and Scottish Governments must condemn US interference in the internal affairs of Venezuela and attempts to undermine its Government.
We call on affiliates to support the Scottish Venezuelan Solidarity Campaign.
