We are currently recruiting for four new roles, two in our campaigns and communications team and two in our Scottish Union Learning Team

Campaigns & Communications Officer (Unions Into Schools).

The STUC – Scotland’s Trade Union Centre – is seeking to recruit a full-time permanent Campaigns & Communications Officer (Unions Into Schools)

34 hours – £33,078.51 - £35,148.85 - £36,302.96 (Pending on-going Job Evaluation)

The Campaigns & Communications Officer (Unions Into Schools) is an exciting new role which will play a key part in furthering the development of our innovative Unions Into School programme. This programme has been delivering sessions on trade unions, workers’ rights & equality issues to school and college students for 16 years.

A key part of this role will be creating high-quality and engaging digital content, including video, interactive resources, and webpages to support the delivery of the programme.

Working with a team of colleagues, you will liaise with schools and colleges to organise Unions Into School sessions, identify opportunities to increase activity and promote the programme, and to develop bespoke activities to meet the needs of particular groups of students.

The Campaigns & Communications Officer (Unions Into Schools) will facilitate online events as well as supporting the wider delivery of STUC activities.

The right candidate will have demonstratable experience of working with the media, both digital and print, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Candidates must have a commitment to trade union values.

The STUC is due to move into a purpose-built trade union centre in Bridgeton in early 2022 but all staff are currently working from home.

Scottish Union Learning (SUL), based within The STUC – Scotland’s Trade Union Centre – is seeking to recruit a part-time Information Officer

SUL Information Officer

28 hours - £24,816 (Pending on-going Job Evaluation)

Fixed term to 31st March 2023

The Information Officer will develop and support information management systems within Scottish Union Learning and ensure the output of information through internal and external communication channels. The post-holder will also provide specific support to the SUL Fair Work Programme.

This post will be key to supporting and promoting all SUL activity throughout Scotland. Candidates must have a commitment to trade union values.

Scottish Union Learning (SUL), based within The STUC – Scotland’s Trade Union Centre – is seeking to recruit a full-time Funding & Admin Assistant.

SUL Funding & Admin Assistant

34 hours – £30,135 (Pending on-going Job Evaluation)

Fixed term to 31st March 2023

The Admin & Funding Assistant will provide administrative expertise and support within Scottish Union Learning.

The post-holder will work with the relevant Senior Development Officer(s), Funding Officer and other members of Scottish Union Learning to establish and maintain appropriate systems for the recording of financial, participant, and course delivery information relating to the SUL Learning Fund and other funding streams.
